Over six years ago, Stephanie  began making new etchings and  re-discovered her love for etching and engraving. In addition to the new etchings, she is now completing the printing of editions of etching plates she made years ago and these can be seen on this website under Etchings.

Stephanie enjoys swimming on the national champions Walnut Creek Masters swim team and in beautiful Lake Sinclair. She was the "high point winner" in her age group at the April Regional Short Course Championships and she competed in the FINA World Championship in swimming at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA in August 2006 and won two medals.  She enjoys listening to classical music while she paints, draws and prints.  Her “painting garden” helps her combine two of her strongest interests, painting and gardening.    

In Spring of 2005, she was the only artist invited to a week long fund raiser at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco.   Stephanie's abstract work was in a show at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek in Fall of 2005.  She is currently working on a series of new flower etchings and a series of landscape etchings of the Georgia lake she loves.

Stephanie Scott successfully taught art classes for over 28 years and has a Masters Degree from San Francisco Art Institute.  She has taught art workshops all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Stephanie really enjoys teaching art.  She believes everyone has the ability to be creative and that her job as a teacher is to help her students discover and develop their creativity and learn technical skills with which to better express it. Stephanie greatly appreciates anyone who takes her art classes or purchases her artwork or cards.

Stephanie has always had a dual interest in working both in abstraction and directly from nature.  Her work in black and white etching helps prepare her for the rigorous drawing she uses to develop her botanical watercolors and her work in large colorful abstraction has helped her develop her sense of color.  She puts a lot of energy into her work and loves what she does.
