Story of the Painting "I grew this Iris in my garden as my love of painting flowers grew. Bearded Iris come in a rainbow of colors (and are named after the ancient Greek goddess of the rainbow). Bearded Iris are seldom seen as a cut flower at florists, because the blooms are fragile and short-lived compared to most cut flowers — all the more reason to grow them if you can. They are easy to grow and will return for many years if given the right care. This painting has been purchased."
